Loyalty
Acting in the employer's best interests and not depriving the employer of one's skills, knowledge, or business contacts.
Standard IV(A) Loyalty to Employer forbids taking client lists, models, research, or proprietary information when leaving an employer. Soliciting former clients before departure also violates the standard. The duty does not, however, require members to put employer interests ahead of laws or ethics — whistleblowing on illegal or unethical activity is protected.
