PlayPrepHQ turns dense exam material into interactive, game-style study tools. The idea is simple: active recall and spaced-repetition beat passive re-reading, and they're a lot less of a slog when they feel like play.

Who's behind it

PlayPrepHQ is built and edited by David Bright, its founder & editor. He designs the study tools, writes and reviews the material, and answers the email — it's an independent project run by one person. You can read how the content is made and checked on our editorial standards page.

Every topic set offers three free study modes:

Quizzes — multiple-choice practice in the format you'll see on exam day, with instant feedback and rationales. Missed terms are scheduled back into your reviews.
Flashcards — a spaced-repetition system (SM-2) that resurfaces cards right before you'd forget them, so you spend time on what you don't yet know.
Word searches — a low-pressure way to get familiar with key terminology for a topic.

What we cover

PlayPrepHQ spans certification and licensure exams across several fields — nursing (NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN), information-technology certifications (CompTIA, AWS, Microsoft Azure and 365 fundamentals), finance (CFA Level 1), and law (the bar exam / MBE) — with more added over time.

How we create and review content

We're transparent about how the material is made: it's drafted with AI assistance and then reviewed and fact-checked by a human against primary exam sources before it's published. Our study content is created for revision and is not official exam material — you should always confirm important facts against a primary source.
