Positioning
Placing the client in body alignment to support comfort, breathing, and healing.
Positioning places the client in proper body alignment to support comfort, breathing, circulation, and healing. Match the position to the need: semi-Fowler’s for dyspnea, left-side lying in late pregnancy, and the specific precautions ordered after spinal or certain surgeries. Reposition immobile clients at least every two hours to prevent pressure injuries.
