Rapport

Rapport is the trusting therapeutic relationship between nurse and client that makes honest communication possible. Build it with open-ended questions, active listening, and comfortable silence, and avoid “why” questions that can sound accusatory. Rapport is the foundation of all therapeutic communication, so it must be established before deeper or more sensitive topics.
