Screening

Checking people without symptoms for early disease; the LPN performs many screenings and reports positive results.

Screening tests asymptomatic people to detect disease early, making it a form of secondary prevention. Know the common recommended schedules, such as mammography and colonoscopy beginning around age 45, while remembering guidelines shift with risk and updates. Early detection generally improves outcomes and reduces the burden of later treatment.
