Airborne
Precautions for infections that travel on small particles suspended in air.
Airborne precautions guard against infections carried on tiny particles that stay suspended in the air and travel long distances. The classic examples — tuberculosis, measles, and varicella — require a negative-pressure (airborne infection isolation) room and a fitted N95 respirator. Keep the door closed at all times and don the N95 every time you enter the room.
